Worth-it upgrades for your Bambu printer (and what to skip)

Bambu printers work well out of the box, so most “upgrades” are optional. These are the ones that actually earn their place, and a couple that are not worth the money.

Usually worth it

  • Hardened steel or ObXidian nozzle if you print any carbon fiber, glass fiber, or glow filament. Brass wears out fast on abrasives.
  • A second build plate (textured PEI or smooth). Swapping plates beats waiting for one to cool, and different surfaces suit different filaments.
  • A filament dryer if you run PETG, TPU, PA, or PC. Wet filament is behind more print failures than people think.
  • Extra AMS or AMS lite only if you genuinely switch colors or materials often.

Usually not worth it

  • Third-party “cooling mods” on machines that already cool well (A1, P1S, X-series).
  • Aftermarket springs or bed clips. The stock bed leveling is good.

What have you added that actually made a difference? Post it with the printer model. Our tested picks: Accessories.
